Construction Expertise:
In recent years Mr. D'Amato has done an extensive amount of work in the refinery and construction industry including three special demolition projects.
This includes the following:
- one at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo where the 80' X 400' poured in place concrete lube oil building was taken down while employees and operations continued but protected until a new metal frame building was built over the same site; there was only one OSHA recordable injury reported while working over 60,000 man-hours - an incident rate of 3.3.
one for Anheuser Busch in Van Nuys where the top 50' of the 180' grain elevator building was cut down - two months prior to the January 1994 Northridge earthquake; there were no recordable injuries on this project. And,
he was responsible for the safety oversight of the demolition of the Cal State University Northridge Parking Structure "C" which had collapsed in the Northridge earthquake. During this projects, no OSHA Recordable injury occurred.
Mr. D'Amato has considerable experience in oilfield and pipeline construction safety, oil and gas production, workover, and well service. He has worked with companies such as ARB, Alex Robertson, Doty Brothers, J. L. Stanton, and Rick's and Van Construction in the pipeline business. In the oilfield service industry he assisted California Production Service (CPS) and many others in the southern California and central California areas.
Mr. D'Amato grew up in the family construction business working his way up to his own company, on a part time basis, with his father and brother in the 1970's and 80's. His familiarity with building codes, structural integrity, and life safety have aided him in his safety business.
Emergency Evacuation Programs:
Mr. D'Amato has provided many companies over the last seven years with safety programs which included written evacuation programs. More intense programs were developed for two large companies including: Mission Foods (Los Angeles), and Case Swayne Co. (Corona), and for high rise office buildings.
